Membership

Making a difference through active involvement and initiative.

Founded as a youth platform since 2003, ATO's central tenet is the active involvement of people regardless of gender, race, background, belief, nationality, and physical disability — forming a community of practice that advances equality, democracy, and international friendship through social and creative activism. Membership is free and open for all.

Why Join

Why membership with the ATO?

A well-structured community platform to advance social advocacies relevant to our current programs and projects. These are the thematic areas members, volunteers, and partners are actively involved in:

Categories

How is membership classified?

The ATO categorizes the people involved in its organization system as follows:

Full Rights

Regular Membership

Full membership rights and privileges. Requires annual renewal.

By Nomination

Honorary Membership

Bestowed on members with significant years of active contribution and leadership, approved by the ATO Membership Committee.

Informal

Volunteer

Given to individuals involved in recognized programs or projects. Does not necessarily include access to decision-making.

Requirements

What are the eligibilities?

According to the ATO's Membership Policy, the person must be:

The applicant must submit a valid ID for verification and complete the online membership application form once a membership opening is announced. Once approved by the Membership Committee, the person becomes a bona fide member, retained through active involvement and annual renewal. As of January 2025, membership is free and does not require membership fees.
Involvement

What does membership entail?

Involvement in the organization is purely voluntary, just like in any civil society organization — but membership requires involvement in major activities, both online and on-site, depending on availability and presence of members or volunteers in your country.

Active involvement refers to collaboration and attendance in meetings and activities, leading initiatives, and contributing to working committees or groups of our recognized projects. Membership also gives access to platforms and networks the ATO is a member of — a way for young professionals to engage further in opportunities.
